THE FIGURE
The figures in this collection are the “Primordial Soup” or source material for other projects, especially the triptychs. Among these abstracted representational studies are also the first phases the imaginary landscapes.
All of the figure paintings were executed at Spring Studio and constitute my most recent work. These works should be considered explorations of form and color, with the figure functioning as the catalyst for an organic development of new imaginative interpretations.
With regard to the nudes, I do not shy away from intense sensuality. The nude, through line, form, light and composition, offers unlimited ways to luxuriate in the human form.
I feel this work is on a continuum, that more than being enjoyable, gives deep meaning to my life and also helps to mitigate the pressures of my everyday work routine.
